It's interesting how Google has gone from owning search to owning the web.

I use Google products everyday and I love them. I'm just a bit concerned where we're headed when the internet is no longer the internet, it's just Google.

I already applied to test Google wave, I'll let you know if I get in.

Mostly, I think it is true that Google is taking over the Internet, but I'm quite as sure as Jeff and Mark. After all Google is yet to produce a killer social media app. YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc...

Also it is a bit ironic Jeff that you are using WordPress instead of Google's blogger.com (I use WordPress too : )

Nevertheless it will be interesting to see what Google does with Google Wave.

Jeff, great post!

Don't take this the wrong way, because I love Google along with everyone else. However, I keep struggling with the "Google is getting too big" thing. During my most paranoid days, I see Google as a sort of Orwellian nightmare--pretty soon I'll have to get Google's permission to go to the doctor, change the oil in my car, etc.

While developments like Wave are cool, I just wish someone or something other than Goolgle would be the creator--for once.

While I am a fan of everything Google - history has proven that becoming the "Borg" stifles innovation and takes a back seat the perception of creating shareholder value... Microsoft is a good example of that. While killer apps just keep oozing from Google, I wish they would focus a bit more on making their current applications easier to use. I mean for the ultimate web dummy... easy enough for monkey man to implement and operate.
